Counterbalance Forklift Operator Refresher (RTITB)

Aims

This course is aimed at trained and certificated operators. At the conclusion of the refresher course candidates should undertake the "Basic Operating Skills Test" to demonstrate competence of existing skills.

Structure

The course is approved by the Road Transport Industry Training Board (RTITB). Training is undertaken within an excellent simulated working environment. On completing the three day course participants will be able to:
- Carry out pre-use inspection
- Identify their existing skills.

The course is concluded with an associated knowledge examination and a practical test.

Content

The following areas are covered:
- Health and Safety
- Controls and Instruments
- Operator Assessment
- Remedial or Refresher Training
- Pre Use Inspection and Take Over Maintenance.

Opportunities exist in the Retail and Distribution Industry for successful students to gain employment as a forklift driver.

Progression

Once this course is completed students may undertake further training in driving various other types of plant equipment.

Entry Requirements

Students are required to provide satisfactory evidence of existing qualification or skills.
