Denise Smith

Denise Smith is a Learning and Development Associate who has over 17 years experience of all stages of the training cycle.  She is a qualified Assessor and Verifier with experience of assessing Sales, Customer Service, Leadership and Management qualifications.  She has also completed an advanced facilitation skills course at Kinharvie Institute as part of her ongoing personal and professional development.

Pat Lang, MSc HRM

Pat Lang is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).   She is a Training Consultant with a wealth of experience in designing and delivering training for the business community.  Within this role she has travelled extensively both nationally and internationally.  In addition to her role as a training consultant Pat has over 10 years experience of lecturing within her field at both undergraduate and post graduate level.   This double role enables Pat to most effectively link both academic theory and research to the practical needs of organisations when designing and delivering training solutions.       


Guy Douglas

Guy Douglas

Guy is a freelance project management consultant. He has been teaching PRINCE2 since 2004 following 30 years experience in the electronics industry. He has managed a diverse range of projects: from the creation and execution of events, to the definition, development and introduction to manufacturing of high technology products. He is a highly focused professional with a long and successful track record of managing both large departments of up to 100 people and small professional teams in R&D, Manufacturing and Quality. He holds a BSc (Hons) from Glasgow University and an MSc from Heriot-Watt University.


Norma Hart

Norma Hart, BA MSc

Norma is an associate trainer with Carnegie Enterprise. She is an accredited PRINCE2 trainer and consultant and is also accredited to teach Principles of Change Management. She is the managing director of Austin Hart Project Management which provides consultancy and training services to a wide range of organisations in Scotland and the UK. She has also taught PRINCE2 in Barcelona and risk management in Norway.


Anne Gibb

Anne Gibb, BSc

Anne Gibb is an associate MSP and M_o_R trainer for Carnegie Enterprise. Anne has more than 25 years’ experience working within the public sector, as a Business Development Manager and laterally as a project manager.  Anne is a specialist in the delivery of Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) and the Management of Risk (M_o_R)

John Connolly, BSc MSC CEng MIET

John, an associate PRINCE2 trainer for Carnegie Enterprise, has some 30 years’ experience in project management. His large project portfolio covers both public and private sectors, and embraces a wide range of project applications from small feasibility studies to multimillion pound Command and Control system development. He has worked for organisations as diverse as Government Departments, Universities and major multinational companies. He has been a PRINCE2 trainer since shortly after the method’s inception and, although the majority of his training has taken place within the UK, he has also trained in many other countries, spanning both hemispheres.

 Maarten de Vries, BA FIBC MAPM


Maarten de Vries is a Fellow of the Institute of Business Consulting and a Member of the Association for Project Management. He’s an experienced management trainer and has been a PRINCE2 trainer with Carnegie Enterprise for more than 4 years and has recently also become tutor for Carnegie’s CMI Project and Programme Management Diploma and Certificate courses. Maarten is a senior business consultant and process expert with over 20 years experience working on projects in many different industry sectors. From 1999 until 2004, he was a senior technology adviser with Highlands and Islands Enterprise. Before that he worked with the Turner Group of Companies in Glasgow, where he was responsible for a host of projects, including setting up various departments and developing new products.

Kate Hill

Kate is a freelance Training and Management Consultant and has been a key member of our team for the last 5 years delivering generic and bespoke Training Programmes. She has over 20 years experience working across a variety of business sectors, both in the UK and overseas. Originally Kate studied finance at Napier University, worked with the Scotsman Newspaper and Shell Expro then later went on to develop and run her own restaurant. Kate has a wide range of Business and Personal Development skills to offer and adopts a creative and innovative approach in workshops to make training fun and to enhance the learning experience.
