Safety Harness (Use and Inspection)
Aims
This course provides participants with knowledge relating to the safe use and inspection of safety harnesses. On completion, participants will be able to:
- Understand the principal requirements of current legislation
- Recognise their roles and responsibilities
- Demonstrate correct procedures for inspection and use.
Structure
This is a 1/2 day course which offers practical training delivered in a classroom. The course can be delivered on demand throughout the year and will be complete in between one and a half and two hours depending on previous knowledge and understanding.
Content
The following areas are covered:
- Legal requirements
- Duties of managers and employees
- Definition of terms
- Sources of damage
- Recommended storage procedures
- Content of inspection
- Consideration of task
- Fitting and use of the harness.
