The role of the modern manager demands that he or she has both the knowledge and skills to manage and supervise people and resources and frequently in today’s business climate they are responsible for driving through numerous change initiatives. This course gives First Line Managers the opportunity to gain insight and skills in to the role of the Supervisor.
Structure
This 2 day course is run as a workshop and is highly participative with the use of practical examples and case studies.
Content
This course will cover the following topics:
• The role of the Team Leader
• Gaining commitment and ownership within the team
• Taking a coaching role to support and manage team/individual performance
• Approaches to individual performance measurement
• Recognising a range of conflict situations
• Understanding the ways in which conflict may develop and can be resolved
• Evaluating the effects of conflict on performance and the individual
