Aims

Provided by our IRCA-registered partners SQMC Ltd. (A.O. 3808)

Aims

This training provides industry with a useful model for business process improvement. ISO 9001 identifies the internal audit process as a vital tool in the maintenance and continual improvement of a customer-focused, process-based Quality Management System (QMS).

Structure

Classroom based training carried out over 2 days.

Course Objectives

This SQMC course has been designed to provide practical and comprehensive training for the performance of value-added internal quality audits in various types of organisations.

The objective of an IRCA-registered Internal Quality Auditors training course is to provide professional training in the principles and practices of internal quality systems. Participants who successfully complete the course will have sufficient knowledge and skills in audit systems. The course will also include the development of personal communication skills, essential in the effective auditor.

Benefits

Training in internal auditing provides delegates with a broader understanding of the activities of an organisation and of their Quality System and how it is implemented. Positive communication channels are opened up or reinforced by a greater awareness of quality procedures. Continuous assessment techniques will apply throughout the course, for which comprehensive notes will be provided. Successful completion of the course will be verified by an IRCA-approved Certificate of Competence, worth 42 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points by the IQA.

Course Programme

This 14-hour course provides participants with the knowledge and skills required to assess and report on the conformance and effective implementation of processes through internal audit and also contribute to the continual improvement of the QMS. It consists of a series of lectures, role-plays, case study and syndicate work, and covers the following principal elements:

• An introduction to Quality Assurance.

• ISO 9001:2008 requirements; also referencing ISO 9000 & ISO 9004.

• Quality Systems Auditing: Guidelines from ISO 19,011:2002.

• Documentation requirements.

• Types of audit.

• Audit reporting and follow-up.

• Up-to-date IRCA registration requirements for Internal Auditors.

Who should attend?

The course is intended for employees in any part of an organisation who are, or may be, affected by quality audits. Many organisations are now selecting up to 10% of their employees, from all sections, to be trained in these techniques to ensure company-wide competence in this vital activity. They are also using it as a general staff development activity to promote ‘Quality Awareness’.
