Aims
The aim of this workshop is to provide participants with an overview of the purpose and requirements of OHSAS 18001:2007 as a tool for managing their risks.
Classroom based training carried out over 2 days.
Course Objectives
BS/OHSAS 18,001:2007 provides industry with a useful systems model for managing health and safety risks resulting from business operations, and for improving OH&S performance. The internal audit process is identified as a key tool in the maintenance and continual improvement of an OH&S Management System.
It provides participants intending to perform internal audits with the knowledge and skills needed to assess and report on the conformance and effective implementation of processes, and to contribute to the continual improvement of the OH&S MS.
Course Programme
Continuous Assessment techniques will apply throughout this 14-hour course for the learning objectives tests. Successful completion of the course will be verified by a Certificate of Competence issued by SQMC. Features ‘Accelerated Learning’ techniques.

It will be ideal for people involved in OH&S Management System auditing processes within their organisation, i.e. staff designated to be the OH&S Management System Auditors, or those who will be affected by OH&S Management Systems audits. Also, for managers who want to know what to expect from an internal audit.
It is intended for those requiring an introduction to the OH&S Management Systems and for all levels of staff involved – including top management. Those involved in design, implementation and continual improvement of the OH&S MS, will find this course helpful; as will those who plan to take other OH&S based training courses, such as Internal Health and Safety Auditor or OH&S MS Auditor/Lead Auditor.
