17th Edition Wiring Regulations 2382-10 (Full Course)
Aims
This course is aimed at experienced, practicing electricians, or other allied professionals, who require a complete course covering all the basic aspects of knowledge of the new edition of the IEE wiring regulations. These also are a requirement of the Part P competent persons scheme.
Structure
This is a 4-day taught course that can be delivered as a day release structure for individuals booking onto an open course, or as a closed course for an employer, either by day-release or block to suit.
The qualification is assessed by an online, multiple choice examination, set by City and Guilds, covering the content and application knowledge relating to the Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installations, BS 7671:2008.
Content
The course is based upon the 8 units within BS 7671:2008 -
Scope, object and fundamental principles, Definitions, Assessment of General Characteristics, Protection for safety, Selection and Erection of Equipment, Inspection and Testing, Special Installations or Locations, Appendices.

This qualification is required for anyone needing an understanding of the new wiring regulations, i.e. for a career as a practicing electrician, or related careers such as electrical contracting, consultants, electrical engineers etc.

Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements, in terms of qualifications, to undertake this course, but candidates must be able to demonstrate a basic knowledge of electrical installations, and be working as a practicing electrician, or in a related field.
