ECITB Safety Passport

Aims

The ECITB/CCNSG Safety Passport provides supervisors and employees with a general knowledge of many aspects of working safely. Many employers are now demanding that contractors hold this Safety Passport before they are allowed to work on site. This course provides you with the knowledge to enable you to work at less risk to yourself and others. On completion of the course you will be aware of your legal obligations and have an increased awareness of safe working procedures.

Structure

The course is delivered over two days and consists of ten modules with a multiple-choice test paper for each module. It is delivered in a lecture room environment and is theory based. In order to pass each module you must achieve a score of at least 80%. Should you fail a module, you will be permitted to re-sit that module using a different paper. Successful candidates will be issued with a training certificate issued by the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB), which is valid for three years. Supervisors will attend an additional day of tuition, which emphasises the key role that supervisors have in securing health and safety including safety communications and risk assessments. At the end of this additional day supervisors will undertake a ten question multiple-choice paper which also has a pass mark of 80%.
