Liquid Petroleum Gas (Changeover) Permanent Dwellings & Residential Park Homes, Leisure Accommodation Vehicles
Aims
This short course is designed to update an experienced gas engineer to enable them to prove competence in the ACS assessments.
Structure
The candidate will determine the categories required i.e. select PD/RPH/LAV as required.
The Liquid Petroleum Gas (Changeover) Permanent Dwellings, Residential Park Homes and Leisure Accommodation Vehicles is delivered in a classroom/workshop environment; the candidate will also be assessed in the college on their knowledge of both theory and practical aspects.
The duration is 1 day training and 1 day assessment.
The awarding body for this course is CITB.
Content
The Liquid Petroleum Gas (Changeover) Permanent Dwellings, Residential Park Homes and Leisure Accommodation Vehicles comprises of core competencies:
Gas safety regulations, LPG origin and properties, safety with LPG, pipe sizing, pressure loss calculations, pipe installation, soundness testing, ventilation caravans, practical exercises, types of regulators and faults, air tests and pressure lost tests.
Career Opportunities
Supervisory role as a Quality Assurance Engineer, Managing Installation Teams or Sales.
Progression
At a later date candidate may wish to extend their skills into the domestic or commercial/industrial gas installations.
Entry Requirements
Experienced gas engineers with appropriate City & Guilds/SVQ qualifications in gas and/or a suitable valid ACS Core such as CCN1 or COCN1 or CCCN1.
Candidates wishing to be reassessed require evidence of previous ACS accreditation which is to be presented to the centre before the assessment can take place.
