Changeover from Core Commercial Gas Safety to Commercial Catering (including COMCAT 1,2,3)
Aims
This short course is designed to update an experienced gas engineer to enable them to prove competence in the ACS assessments.
Structure
The Commercial Catering Appliances is delivered in a classroom/workshop environment; the candidate will also be assessed in the college on their knowledge of both theory and practical aspects.
The duration is 2 days training and 1 day assessment.
The awarding body for this course is CITB.
Content
The Commercial Catering Appliances comprises of core competencies:
Appliance installation, appliance servicing, checking and setting operational and safety components, recognition of appliance defects, flueing and ventilation requirements.
Career Opportunities
Supervisory role as a Quality Assurance Engineer, Managing Installation Teams or Sales.
Progression
At a later date candidate may wish to extend their skills into the domestic, LPG or commercial/industrial gas installations.
Entry Requirements
Experienced gas engineers with appropriate City & Guilds/SVQ qualifications in gas and/or CCCN1 Core Commercial Catering.
Candidates wishing to be reassessed require evidence of previous ACS accreditation which is to be presented to the centre before the assessment can take place.
